Hartlepool’s Oaksway netball team slip to defeat at Bournemouth.

WHILE Hartlepool United enjoyed a weekend victory over Bournemouth, the town’s netball team weren’t as lucky.

Oaksway also made the mammoth trek to the south coast for their second game of the season, looking to build on their winning start.

But without star shooter Emma Lower they were deprived of their chief points scorer and slipped to a 49-35 defeat against Bournemouth 7s Blades.

Centre Jill Foreman told SportMail: “It was a really tough game.

“We had to make a lot of changes and were missing our six-foot-four shooter Emma Lower and she was a big miss.

“We went back to the way we used to play, with a shorter attack, and tried to employ some quick, sharp netball.

“That worked at times but we could not adapt through the four quarters.

“We were down by five after the first quarter but then managed to get back to within one point.”
