HEAD coach Glenn Bowman must view life at Horden as one step forward and three steps back at the moment.

Horden welcome back stand-off Andrew Turner after injury at Bradford & Bingley tomorrow but while he returns through the entrance, several players go out through the exit door.

Michael Thompson and Chris Wood are out injured and now Jordan Yates, Jona Hudson and Craig Gilmour are all missing for various reasons, leaving Horden forced to play a patched up pack.

Steve Heckles moves from back row to hooker with Paul James, having played the promotion season in either the back or second row, filling in at prop. JP Cairns comes onto bench to cover the front row.

The versatile Andrew White moves to back row and is joined by Carl Oliver who has impressed on the wing but now reverts to his original position of flanker. They join Carl Brown to make up the breakaway trio.

Former skipper Newton Turton comes back after injury to be named on the bench.

In the backs, Turner comes back after injury to play at 10 with David Mason keeping his place on the wing.

“It’s good to have Andrew back,” said Bowman. “His experience is key.

“He knows how to manage a game and brings a lot of confidence to the rest of the team.

“The continuing injury situation and unavailability means this season gets no easier.“But were are Horden and we have a group of lads that will stick together and give it their all.

“I’m sure they’ll do the same tomorrow.”
