GRAEME Storm carded an excellent four-under par 70 to lie in joint-seventh place at the halfway stage of the China Open.
The Hartlepool golfer birdied the par five second hole at Binhai Lake and repeated the feat on the sixth and seventh par five and par four holes.
He then birdied the par four ninth hole for an out score of 32 and birdied the four par 10th hole.
However, Storm dropped one shot on the par five 12th hole and the par four 15th hole before pulling a shot back on the par five 18th hole.
Storm is in joint-seventh place with New Zealander Matthew Griffin on six under par.
Finland’s Mikko Ilonen compiled a breathtaking second round 63 to establish a three shot halfway lead carding nine birdies to reach 12 under par and put him three clear of Brett Rumford and Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
