Paragonians celebrate anniversary

Paragonians Cricket Club presented its annual awards at a special night which also celebrated their 75th Anniversary.

Eddie Crane was presented with the players player of the year award by the club's honorary president Ron Hails and John Dunning presented the young player of the year award to Michael Williams.

The Burgons (Mark, Jack and Adam) were given The captains Award.

The prestigious George Henderson Memorial Trophy, now in its tenth year, which is given for contribution to local sport, was presented to Joe Melrose by Tom Harvey.

He joined an elite list of winners for his 30 years at Paras and his involvement in football and cricket in Hartlepool.

There was also a programme given out on the night at the Raglan Club which included past and present players, anecdotes and the great achievements of the players over the years, along with some photographs of the many different teams.
