East Durham boxer Bradley Saunders set to be roared on by fans in London tonight
Bradley Saunders
BRADLEY Saunders will be roared on by a small army of fans when he makes his professional debut tonight.
The County Durham boxer will take on seasoned Birmingham campaigner Jason Nesbitt at the York Hall in London’s east end.
“I’ve got just over 200 coming down to watch me, which is amazing,” Saunders told SportMail.
“To be making my professional debut at such a famous venue and on the bill of a top Frank Warren show is a thrill.
“But to have so many supporters there in the hall is something else.
“I can’t wait to get in there and get my pro career started and hopefully put in a good performance.”
Saunders hopes he is a man destined for “big things” after a 183-fight run in the amateur ranks where he won a multitude of medals, including at the World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
But like all new professionals he must start at the bottom and the debut hurdle at Bethnal Green, typically, is a wily and experienced opponent.
Read more about how Saunders gets on in his pro debut in tomorrow’s Sportmail.
