Hartlepool golfer Graeme Storm reflects on finishing 30th in HSBC Abu Dhabi Golf Championship

GRAEME Storm will today be looking forward to the next leg of golf’s desert tour after a superb start to 2012.

Storm finished in a tie for 30th yesterday at the HSBC Abu Dhabi Golf Championship – his opening event of the year.

Rounds of 74, 69, 68 and 73 gave the Hartlepool golfer a four-under-par total of 284 at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

It gives Storm not only plenty to build on for Thursday’s Commercialbank Qatar Masters.

Even though the 33-year-old finished nine strokes behind winner Robert Rock yesterday he will have received a surge of confidence given what he achieved in his first tournament play since October.

After shaking off any ring-rust on Thursday, when he shot a two-over-par 74, he found some brilliant form in the middle two rounds.
