Bob is a Ladies man

BRACE yourselves because it is going to be a riot!

All them mature women clamouring over TV's top heart-throb's skitey bits when he comes to Brinkburn.

The thinking woman's Brad Pitt, Tyne Tees weatherman, Bob Johnson, will be the guest star at West's Ladies Day, which hopefully is not a reference to Aaron Myers beautiful flowing locks.

The Ladies Day will be held on the afternoon of the North One match with Morley a week on Saturday. Tickets I'm informed include a Bucks Fizz & canape reception, lunch and admission to the game for a steal at 20.

West are pushing the boat out with an appearance from Bob who, annoyingly, seems to get a longer slot on the end of North East Tonight babbling with the presenters than the sports bulletin.

But hey, don't let my bitterness put you off, it's not Mr Johnson's fault. Did you know by the way that he is related to Alan Hansen? I kid you not.

However, there is no doubt Bob's popular, particularly with the more mature ladies.

Indeed, Kelly fears it is going to be like 'grab a granny night' at 42nd Street all over again.

Those Wednesday nights at that great nightspot were something special (for those of you under the age of 35, ask your mams and dads).

I never had much luck with the women back then and those who've met my wife will testify that it hasn't changed.

So if there's some nice talent at Brinkburn a week on Saturday it might be a chance to re-live those days of '42'.

It's too good an opportunity to miss.
