West vote to put Moss in at number 10 for Chester match

WEST Hartlepool look to translate promise into points tomorrow – and take the scalp of high-flying Chester in the process.

West have not won since seeing off Burnage in mid-December, but have gone close on their travels over the last two Saturdays in Cheshire.

They had a chance to beat Rossendale at Carrington, only to miss out 24-20, and last Saturday they drew 3-3 at Lymm.

West have another Cheshire test tomorrow and director of rugby Kevan Oliphant says the squad are confident of success, despite being without two of their star backs Gareth Foreman and Stuart Waites.

“We’re looking forward to it,” he said.

“And we’re looking to put things right from the last couple of weeks.

“While we played pretty well at Lymm and could have won the week before as well, we need to start winning again.

“And we want to keep our good home run going.

“We’ve only had one defeat here in the last two seasons and we want to keep Brinkburn as a place where teams don’t like to come and don’t get anything.”

Paul Moss comes in at number 10 for West.
