HARTLEPOOL and district sport has been left decimated by the weather.

Hartlepool United’s vital League One match with fellow strugglers Colchester United was the first to fall victim on Friday morning after referee Neil Sharp inspected Victoria Park.

The rugby programme has also been wiped out, including the big Billingham v West Hartlepool derby in National Three North.

The other local derby, between Hartlepool and Seaton Carew in Durham Northumberland Two was another casualty.

So too were the two Division One fixtures, Blyth v Hartlepool Rovers and Horden v Ponteland.

All the local football league fixtures have also been postponed.

Even indoor sport was affected.

Oaksway’s big National League netball match with Team Bath on Sunday has been postponed with the South West side not travelling to the North East.
