What the papers say.
  • Newcastle full-back Steven Carr, whose contract expires at the end of the season is tipped to make a move to Merseyside, according to reports today


    • The former Tottenham defender is being tracked by Everton, reckons the Daily Mirror.

  • Sunderland are tipped to make Man City's Stephen Ireland an £8m summer signing, reports The Sun.

    Roy Keane also wants to bring Fulham's Hameur Bouazza. to the Stadium of Light, according to The Times.


  • Chelsea boss Avram Grant has vowed to sign AC Milan's Brazil forward Kaka - and he is also keen on Barcelona's Lionel Messi, according to the Daily Star.

  • Benfica want Gordon Strachan to be their next manager and are ready to make a shock move for the Celtic boss, reackons the Daily Mirror.
