HUNDREDS of youngster are having a great time in their half-term holidays – by dancing in a top festival.
The Karen Liddle October Dance Festival is under way at the Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, Hartlepool.
It brings together 500 competitors from dance schools in Hartlepool, East Durham, Stockton and Middlesbrough for four days of competition.
And anyone wanting to watch keen dancers perform at their very best can come along and watch.
The festival runs between 9am and 4pm each day of the competition which started yesterday and finishes on Thursday.
Spectators can pay for a day’s admission and pop in and out of the theatre as much as they want.
Competitors will range in age from just two years old to over 16.
They will compete in categories of tap, modern, ballet, song and dance, character, national and acro. Students can take part in solo, duet, trio or troupe competitions.
Admission for those wanting to watch the festival is £3.50 for adults or £3 per child and for people on concessions.
