DANCERS gave shoppers a shock when they broke into a surprise routine in a centre’s main square.
Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, in Hartlepool, came to a standstill when members of Carol Hammond’s Studio took part in a ‘flash mob’ routine.
It saw 26 girls aged from six to 23 break into a seemingly spontaneous dance routine as shoppers went about their business.
Many stopped to watch and clapped along as the dancers strutted their stuff.
Carol Hammond, who runs the Dalton Street dance studio, said: “We have talked about this quite a while and the kids have all wanted to do it.
“We did a samba and a jive combined and towards the end even the little tots joined in.
“People stopped and were watching from all around and up on the balcony. We were clapping and they were clapping.
“It was a good experience and they loved it.”
