A HARTLEPOOL music teacher has added another string to his bow by entertaining diners.
During the week, Andrew Ingledew teaches music to young people at English Martyrs School and Sixth Form College.
But on a weekend he serenades restaurant customers with his guitar playing at Marco Polo, in York Road.
After just a few weeks, Andrew, 50, has proven to be such a hit with diners that they have taken to the internet to complement him.
Andrew, a married dad-of-three, of Grange Road, Hartlepool, said: “The owner approached me about playing at the restaurant.
“People seem to really like it and many have said they didn’t know live music was on.
“I play everything from Puccini to Lady Gaga. People have started to comment on Trip Advisor about how they enjoyed the acoustic music.”
One customer said on the website: “there was even an acoustic guitarist in, to our surprise, he was very soothing.”
Marco Polo owner Darab Rezai said: “I have known Andrew for quite a while and he is a talented musician.
“It gives another dimension to the restaurant and gives a holiday mood atmosphere to the night.” Customers can see Andrew on Saturday nights.
