A HARTLEPOOL youngster is one step closer to glory after making it through to the next round of an X-Factor style competition.
Ten-year-old Campbell Jade Daniels is just one step away from the national final of the TeenStar singing competition after winning over judges at the Newcastle Regional Finals.
Her performance of Ellie Goulding’s Elton John cover My Song took her through to the Area Finals of the Pre-Teen category.
Mum Kelly Daniels said: “She was picked in the top seven to go through then the audience chose the other three.
“I thought she did brilliantly and she got some great feedback from the judges.” The panel of music industry insiders said in their feedback of Campbell Jade: “Love your voice! Great image with great big hair!
“Don’t be afraid to let your accent come out, there’s something special here.”
The TeenStar competition aims to find the best teen and pre-teen singers, songwriters and solo artists in the region.
Campbell Jade, of Seaton Carew, and who attends Miss Toni’s Academy of Singing and Performing Arts, will perform in the area final on Sunday, May 25, at Huddersfield Town Hall.
The next round after that is the prestigious National Final where the winner will take home £5,000 to develop their act and win major publicity.
Campbell Jade, who goes to St Joseph’s Primary School, in Hartlepool, is also an aspiring model competing in the final of the Miss High Street competition in Liverpool next month.
