A DANCING husband and wife team are back to winning ways in competition.

After taking time out to be with family, Hartlepool woman Adele Jang Don and her South Korean husband, Jang SeHyoung Do, returned to action in the USA. The couple won one title, placed second in another category and reached the final in a third.

In 2012, Adele gave birth to a baby boy called Sung Hee Jang. She told Dance Fever today: “We recently danced our first competition back on the dance floor after taking time out to be with our growing family. We danced in Virginia, USA at the Yuletide Ball DanceSport Championships.

“We danced in the Professional Rising Star event and won first place in the standard ballroom and placed second in the Professional Rising Star Latin Championships.

“We also placed in the final for both ballroom and Latin Open to the World events in the same competition.

“This is a great comeback for us after we had around two years away from the competitive scene. We also recently danced in the UK Open held in Bournemouth and improved our place in the world ranking, which was great for us as we have recently started out with our new coaches in Brooklyn DanceSport Club, New York.

“They were very happy with our recent performance and hope its just the start of things to come.”

The successes mark the start of a busy period for the couple. Adele added said they were planning lectures and demonstrations and, at the end of February, they will be performing in a show and giving lectures in Greece for the International Dance Teachers Association, Greek Area.

“We will also be taking our son, SungHee who is now two years old, to Athens in Greece and will meet up with my mom and Dad, Carol and Dave Hammond, where my mom will also be adjudicating their championships.”
