DANCE students are all set to take to the Town Hall stage for a colourful musical show.
The senior girls at Hartlepool’s Elwick Academy of Dance have been hard at work rehearsing for their biggest show of the year.
And all of the hard work will come together in 11 days time when they perform the first of three showings of Bankhen.
The new musical has been written and produced by Leanne Jeffries, the business partner of Geoff Lucas at the dance school.
It follows the fortunes of two girls who go on a trip to the far east and is brought together in a “bright action-packed” show.
Geoff, owner of the school based in the town’s Bathgate Terrace, said: “Rehearsals have been going really well.
“It’s like everything else, we have a couple of weeks to go but it’s just about finished and it’s looking fantastic.
“The students have been working extremely hard.
“Hopefully it’s going to go down a storm, I’m sure it will.”
Nineteen senior students, aged 13 and older will take part in the show at the Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, on Wednesday, July 10, Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12.
Each show will get underway at 7pm.
Tickets are on sale now and Geoff is urging family, friends and dance fans to snap them up and go along to support the girls.
He added: “Tickets have just gone on sale so we are hoping to sell a lot in advance and get a fantastic audience in for all of the shows.
“Leanne has done a fantastic job writing and producing the show so a lot of credit must go to her.”
Tickets are priced at £9.50 for adults and £8.50 for concessions.
They can be bought by calling the venue’s box office on (01429) 890000.
