A dance academy is ready to put on a spectacular show - and that’s just one of the highlights in a historic period for the school.
A cast of 80 from the Watson Academy of Performing Arts in Hartlepool will be performing in A Musical Wonderland, to be held at the Town Hall Theatre in Raby Road.
The show runs from Tuesday, December 8, to Friday, December 11, with performances scheduled at 6.45pm each evening. Tickets are available now at £10 and £9.
Dance school owner Mandy Watson said: “We have got students aged from two to 18 taking part in this and we are proud of them all.”
Around 80 students from the academy have been rehearsing for 12 weeks for a show which Mandy described as “having something to entertain for people of all ages.”
The show is a tribute to the musicals including Ghost, Annie, and the new musical Buddy the Elf.
There is also a Disney section and a Broadway opening to the whole show.
A Musical Wonderland also includes some wonderful festive elements, say organisers.
The show comes at a time when the academy, which is based in Park Road, has plenty of reason to celebrate.
It is all set to celebrate its 20th anniversary and Mandy added; “We have had people who have gone on to open their own dance schools.
“We have had students who have appeared in the West End and one who went on to open their own dance school in Italy.
“The school is going strong and we are getting stronger.”
The busy period for the Watson Academy of Performing Arts also includes the planned launch of a new timetable. And an open day is being planned at the academy early in the New Year.
Mandy added: “We are also currently taking in new members at the moment.”
