JLM Dance awards its students

A FLEDGLING dance school has rewarded its students for a tremendous season.

Jemma Mudd, 25, only formed JLM Dance last year and now has 20 people on her books.

She is so proud of her students, who practice at the Victoria Park home of Hartlepool United, that she held a disco and a presentation event to hand out trophies.

More than 60 family and friends turned out for the event.

Jemma said: “It was enjoyed by all, and I plan to have more awards in October to help the children progress and improve further.”

The fantastic dancers ranged from babies to children judged to be the best at salsa.

The full list of dance school winners was:

l Babies Charlotte Bage, Ellsie Mudd and Honey Cusworth for dancing in the baby boppers section.

l Connie Roundtree, Cameron Geirts, Lois Frank, Lola Todd, Faith Campbell and Lilly Brooks all received trophies for dancing in the bigger boppers section.

l Evan Mudd, Louise Winship, Carmen Hann, Rhiannan Winship, Dani Hann, Shannon Winship and Casey Grainger, all received trophies in ballroom and Latin dancing in the junior group.

l Caitlin Haran, who was awarded a trophy for salsa dancing.

l Brodie Geirts and Daisy Allen, who were honoured for their dancing in ballroom and latin in the infant group.

l Connie Roundtree, judged to be most promising pupil for showing lots of potential in her dancing.

l Cameron Geirts, who won the smile award for making everyone smile through his enjoyment when dancing.

l Brodie Geirts won a five- star special award for achieving all her targets in her dancing.

l Rhiannan Winship, who won most improved award.

l Carman Hann, who won the best dancer award.

The school holds classes, including salsa, on Thursdays from 7pm to 8pm, adult social dance from 4.30pm to 5.30pm on Saturdays, as well as the following sessions on a Sunday.

l Baby bop for children aged from three months to a year, between 2pm and 2.45pm.

l Bigger boppers for one to three-year-olds from 3pm to 3.30pm.

l Infant classes for three to seven-year-olds from 3.30pm to 4.15pm.

l Junior classes for eight to 13-year-olds, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
