WHAT do Kylie, Beyonce, Madonna and members of a Hartlepool dance academy have in common?
They have all been put through their paces by top choreographer Tim Noble.
Young dancers at the Debbie Barrass Academy of Performing Arts, in Hartlepool’s Murray Street, were given a dance workshop by Tim.
It was a real coup for the academy as Tim is Kylie Minogue’s choreographer and is known as her Dance Captain.
Tim, a former mentor and choreographer on Pop Idol and X Factor TV, and his team of world-class dancers have also shown the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, Girls Aloud, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj, Cheryl Cole, Tom Jones, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor how to move.
He has also choreographed in London’s West End, in shows including Grease and Starlight Express.
Tim spent all of Sunday working with around 40 town dancers aged eight to 18, who had a truly “inspirational experience”.
Academy principal Debbie Barrass said: “It was the most fabulous day.
“Tim has been in the industry since he was 11 years old and he did an industry workshop with us. “He did lots of different dance, including commercial, film and theatre.
“It was fun and he made the day a very inspirational experience.
“He gave our dancers an insight and he gave them that inspiration to work hard if they want to be in the business.
“He was very impressed with the dancers and he was just a lovely man. “The kids loved it and Tim brings such energy and passion.”
After training at The Central School of Ballet, Tim, who runs the PureStar Productions dance workshop and event company, went on to star in the original productions of Grease.
After taking up the role of Rocky II in Starlight Express, he worked as Kylie’s choreographer, co-ordinating all her world and US tours, videos and global album promotions.
