A FORMER dance world champion is offering Hartlepool people the chance to pick up a few tips.

Adele Jang Don, who is originally from the town, and her South Korean husband, Jang SeHyoung Don, will give a demonstration of their skills.

The dancing duo will welcome visitors to the Carol Hammond School of Dance, based in Dalton Street in Hartlepool,

The studio is owned and run by Adele’s mum Carol Hammond. Carol said Adele was in town for a while as she was visiting from her home in New York in the United States.

Carol said: “They are going to do an American Smooth and Argentine Tango class. This is a great opportunity while they are in UK and it is one which is not to be missed”.

She said the couple were former World Smooth and Latin Rhythm Champions and Carol added: “The public have a chance to learn how to dance this beautiful dance style”.

Classes will be held on Mondays and will start on Monday, September 15, with the first session getting under way at 8pm.

But it is not the only class which is on the way at the school of dance.

Carol is also starting the Charlie Bear Club for youngsters just starting out in dancing.

It begins on Friday, September 12, and it is available for children aged from two to four.

The classes will run from 4pm to 4.30pm and also on the way are sessions for children who are aged between five and nine.

They will get a chance to try out tap, jazz, contemporary dance and musical theatre in a new programme called the Broadway Theatre Club.

It will start on Saturday, September 13 and will run from 9am to 10am.

Classes for adults are also being held by Carol. They include Adult Latino classes every Wednesday and includes styles such as salsa, mambo, cha cha, jive, and bossa nova.
