HARTLEPOOL’s hip-hop kings Ruff Diamond will take a break from their hectic schedule to visit a town school next week.
The crew have been performing non-stop at some huge gigs around the country since their awesome moves earned them in a spot in Sky 1’s Got to Dance final when the lads just missed out on the crown.
And staff at Catcote School Business and Enterprise College, in Catcote Road, were delighted when the crew confirmed they would visit the school to mark the opening of some new facilities.
As a result of changes to the curriculum, the school will unveil a new state-of-the art gallery for talented students to showcase their photography and artwork.
A new multi-sensory interactive classroom will also be shown to the crew before the talented lads perform a short routine for the delighted students.
School staff are delighted Ruff Diamond confirmed their attendance for the opening next Wednesday.
Lisa Greig, assistant headteacher at the school, said: “Ruff Diamond kindly performed at our school prom last year the Historic Quay and we are delighted to be able to welcome them in to our school next week.
“As a dance group that symbolises creativity it’s fantastic that the crew is coming along to open both of the exciting new areas of the school.
“The students will be absolutely delighted to see them, a lot of out students followed their progress on Got to Dance and are big fans.”
Photographs of the visit and the new facilities will feature in the Mail next week.
