THESE fantastic scenes await visitors to an art club’s 67th annual exhibition.
And there’s still time for people to enjoy the wide-ranging array of work before it closes for another year.
Hundreds of people have already seen this beautiful display of works by the members of Hartlepool Art Club.
But visitors to Hartlepool Art Gallery still have time to enjoy the display which runs until Sunday.
The display was launched last month when 400 guests got a private viewing. The official opening was performed by Keith Brownlee (below), the son of honorary member Grace Brownlee and father of Olympic triathletes Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee.
During the opening, a short video was shown with a message from the brothers who were unable to open preview as they were training in Spain.
The brothers are triathlon Olympic gold and bronze medal winners and the first brothers to be together on podium in an individual sport since 1908.
A spokesman for the art club said: “The work displayed reflects the imagination and skills that have established the club’s reputation as a leading art society in the North.”
The club was established in 1947 it now has more than 100 members.
The spokesman added: “The standard set by the club, means that all paintings are original and have not been displayed previously in Hartlepool. Traditional, contemporary and abstract works feature in a range of techniques and subject matter.
“Hartlepool Art Club feels that it is important that every member’s work is valued.”
The display includes work by members from beginners to well-established veterans.
The club meets on the second Wednesday of each month in Hartlepool Art Gallery from 7pm to 9pm. It offers a wide variety of activities including talks, demonstrations and workshops by practising professional artists.
The spokesman added: “All members and non-members who are interested in the arts are made very welcome.”
The exhibition runs until Saturday, January 3 and the gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10am to 5pm. Entry is free.
