A MAJOR dance festival featuring hundreds of competitors has started.
The annual Hartlepool Dance Festival started yesterday and continues until Sunday, June 1, at the Town Hall Theatre in Raby Road.
Photographers from the Hartlepool Mail were there to capture the drama with representatives of eight dance schools from across the North-East taking part.
Schools from Newcastle, South Shields, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool are all represented.
Competition will be held from 9am to 9pm on each of the days and the public are welcome to give their support.
Admission is £5 a day for adults or £4 a day for children and senior citizens. Those interested should pay on the door.
If you miss the competition, or would like a permanent reminder of the incredible level of dancing talent on show, all the photographs we take will be available to buy via www.northeastpress.newsprints.co.uk.
