A YEAR TO REMEMBER: Hartlepool teenager Georgia Lennon who can look forward to a leading role in Cinderella

SUPER-TALENTED teenager Georgia Lennon is ready to take her place in a popular pantomime - but that’s just one achievement in a fantastic year of accolades.

The Hartlepool rising star will play a leading role in Cinderella which is this year’s pantomime being staged by the Elwick Academy of Dance.

Georgia plays Florinda in the show at the Town Hall Theatre in Raby Road which runs from Monday, January 5, to Saturday, January 10.

Mum Nicola said it’s just the latest success for Georgia in what has been a fantastic year.

She said: “Georgia sat her London College of Music Diploma in Music Theatre Performance in September and was over the moon to get 94 per cent. This turned out to be the highest mark in the region and she was invited to perform at the University of West London presentation concert.”

Nicola added: “She is now Miss Georgia Lennon (DipLCM) This is quite an achievement for a 15 year old.”

Georgia studies singing and piano at The Northern School of Music where she has been taught by the same teacher since she was eight. “We are very grateful for all Jane Parker’s help and support.”

The list of achievements goes on. Nicola added: “Georgia sings with Quay Voices at Sage Gateshead and their annual Christmas concert was hosted by Helen Skelton, the Blue Peter and Countryfile presenter.

“Georgia has just finished playing Dorothy in English Martyrs production of the Wizard of Oz and will play Florinda in Cinderella.”

Tickets are £9.50 for adults, and £8.50 for children and for people on concessions.

Performances are planned at 6.45pm each night with a 2pm matinee on Saturday, January 10. Anyone wanting tickets should contact the Town Hall Theatre box office on (01429) 890000.
