KEEN dancers from throughout the Hartlepool and East Durham areas could be a step away from winning top prizes.

And their chance for triumph comes thanks to a choreographer of international fame who is bringing a competition to the area.

Tim Noble has organised the Stars Of The Future festival to be held at Blackhall Community Centre in Hesleden Road, Blackhall tomorrow.

Competition categories at the event will include the Future Star Freestyle Dance Challenge, as well as solos, duos, trios and groups.

The competition is open to people aged from six to 20. It starts at 9.30am with people expected to arrive from 8am.

Professional judges will be there and there will be numerous awards as well as a special prize of winning one of two places with Purestar Productions, the leading dance workshop and event company which Tim runs.

Dance merchandise and other prizes will also be offered and the cost of entering is £25 for three entries, and £10 for spectators.

Tim has worked as dance captain and choreographer to Kylie Minogue, and he wrote, choreographed and presented the hit television series, A Chance to Dance.

He has worked as performance mentor and choreographer on Pop Idol and the X Factor series, and continues to develop fresh talent for major record labels in the UK.

He told Dance Fever: “The idea is to have a fun, competitive, energetic event together to give the kids a great experience and an opportunity to compete for places.

“It is really important for the kids to have a great time and express themselves, make new friends.

“It is going to be fantastic and there are cash prizes as well as merchandise and vouchers.”
