PRECEDED by the ubiquitous Uptown Funk, this fourth studio album is designed as a robot in the esteemed producer’s career, and judging by its record-breaking single the move is already paying off.

Comprised entirely from original material, the LP once more finds Ronson exercising his extensive book of contacts, with Stevie Wonder and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker joining Bruno Mars among the list of contributors.

On a record dominated by vintage funk and ‘80s-flavoured R&B, Parker provides one of the highlights with the wicked slinking groove of Doffodils, with rapper Mystikal turning in another with his dominant performance on Feel Right.

Its air may be distinctly retro, but if early signs are anything to go by it’ll be one of 2015’s unavoidable sounds. 7/10. AW
