EXCITED youngsters will be in good voice when they sing alongside X Factor star Stacey Solomon as part of a national children’s concert.
Pupils from Grange Primary School, in Hartlepool, have started rehearsing for the annual Young Voices event, which brings schools together for a series of concerts across the country.
A school choir of 34 children, all aged between eight and 10, will hit the road in January to perform at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena which holds over 13,000 people.
Stacey Solomon, who was X Factor’s 2009 runner up, will make a guest appearance and perform a song alongside the children.
Grange Primary School teacher Steve Smith, 59, has been training the choir since September.
He said: “We are the only school in the area taking part in the singing competition, so it really is a privilege to nationally represent our town.
“The children make up such an enthusiastic and committed choir. The main objective is to give the children a singing opportunity of a lifetime.”
Mr Smith also attended a workshop in Sheffield to help the pupils perfect their dance moves.
