Josh won his place at judges’ houses after an emotional rendition of Emeli Sande’s Clown.

He’ll be joined at judges’ houses by Che Chesterton, Seann Miley Moore, Tom Bleasby, Ben Clark and Simon Lynch, to compete for a place in the live finals.

Tonight’s show saw tensions fly high between music mogul Simon Cowell and contestant Mason Noise.

The pair clashed after Noise protested against how long he had for his audition slot.

The singer objected to his audition being stopped, claiming that other people had been given 10-minute slots, while he only had 47 seconds.

He was kicked off the stage by Cowell, but his mentor Grimshaw admitted he would have given him a chair.
