FOUR acoustic acts will be taking to the stage this weekend as promoters PinDrop Unplugged holds its first event of the year.
The Fishermans Arms, in Southgate, on the Headland, is the venue for the evening of music, headlined by Dan Donnelly.
The Irishman has performed at Glastonbury and a string of other major festivals in the past as well as supporting Seth Lakeman twice on sell out tours across Britain.
He was also nominated for the 2009 UK Festival Critics Choice category alongside established artists including Thom Yorke and Lily Allen.
The PinDrop event will be held in the popular pub this Saturday, February from 8pm. Organisers say everyone is welcome.
Dan will be supported on the night by PinDrop event regulars Cherry Head, Cherry Heart and Tyneside’s 3 At Sea, making their PinDrop debut.
Admission is free for the gig, although people are asked to spare a bit of chance to help fund travel costs for the artists.
Brian Barnes, who founded PinDrop in 2010, said the events always get a good turnout at the Fishermans Arms.
Brian, who lives in Chester Road, in the town, said: “As ever, it’s a chance for local music fans to enjoy some top-class musicians in a good venue.
“Our events at the Fish always go down well, let’s hope this one is no different.”
The pub hosted a PinDrop All Dayer in August last year which was hailed a huge success.
