FOUR acts including a talented headliner from the capital are on the bill at an event to celebrate the third birthday of a town-based music promotions project.

Founder of PinDrop Unplugged Brian Barnes said he is very pleased with how things have gone since the first event was held in November 2010.

And he is urging music fans to celebrate PinDrop’s third anniversary with him this Saturday at a birthday bash at the Fishermans Arms, in Southgate, on the Headland.

Singer songwriters Jamie Beau and Elaine Palmer will both perform as will Skylark Song, a duo from Tyneside.

The headliner for the evening will be another singer songwriter Cara Sebastian, who is making the trip to town from London for the event.

Brian, 44, who lives in Chester Road, said: “I think the fact we have lasted three years is a good thing and we are getting better and branching out all of the time.

“For me, setting up PinDrop was just a way of helping to keep the local music scene alive.

“It’s never been about the money, it’s about putting on a good night and organising the type of gigs that I would like to go to as well.

“It’s a chance for local musicians to have a stage, but it’s also an opportunity for music fans in the town to welcome musicians from outside of Hartlepool and we have had some fantastic acts on over the years.”

Brian is planning to expand in the coming years and is now organising and holding events in Stockton and Newcastle as well as in Hartlepool.

“We are already fully booked until June which shows things are going well for us,” he added.

PinDrop regularly holds events in the popular Fishermans Arms and the All Dayer held in August which featured live acts from 2pm-11.30pm was hailed a huge success.

The live music kicks off at around 8pm this Saturday.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
