Hartlepool Male Voice Choir will be in fine voice when they perform with international singer Russell Watson this weekend.
The operatic star, known to millions of fans all over the world as simply ‘The Voice’ will make his third appearance in concert with the choir at Hartlepool Borough Hall on Saturday night.
Excitement is growing ahead of the performance and there are still a small number of tickets available in the 900-seat venue.
Duncan Graham, chairman of Hartlepool Male Voice Choir, said: “We are all very excited. Emails have been going back and forth between us and Russell and he is also looking forward to it.
“It is pretty well a sell -out but there are still some tickets left. Some are for a slightly restricted view, but there are some good seats available.”
Russell will be bringing his musical director and own sound engineer to Hartlepool to make sure the audience is treated to the best acoustics.
He will perform solo material from his current Up Close and Personal nationwide tour as well as singing with the choir.
Russell showed a willingness to return to Hartlepool after he went down a storm with audiences when he previously performed with the choir twice before.
The choir has advertised the concert all over the North East and members of his fan club The Russlers are expected to be among the audience.
Tickets are priced at £35 or £30 for seats with a restricted view. Any remaining tickets will be available on the door on the night, but people are advised to get them in advance from the Tourist Information Centre in Church Square, or by calling the box office on (01429) 890000.
