HOMETOWN heroes Maxïmo Park were today announced as the support band for The Who’s forthcoming North East gig.
The mod icons are due to play at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle on Tuesday, December 9, as part of their Who Hits 50 tour.
It will take fans on an amazing journey through their entire career, from the days of The High Numbers, to classic albums such as My Generation, Who’s Next, Tommy and Quadrophenia.
The show, which guitarist Pete Townshend describes as “hits, picks, mixes and misses”, will see the band play all the anthems, as well as deeper cuts from their catalogue.
When the tour was announced, singer Roger Daltrey described it as “the beginning of the long goodbye”.
Maximo are delighted to have secured such a prestigious support slot.
