A FORMER IT manager has been wowing a TV audience of millions as he bids to become the next big stage star.
Jon Moses, 28, has made it through to the finals of ITV’s Superstar, which sees budding stars battling it out for the lead role in Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s nationwide tour of his classic rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar.
Jon, who was born in Easington and grew up in Peterlee and Haswell, is down to the last nine finalists and has been seen belting out hits including Foreigner’s I Wanna Know What Love Is in a bid to impress judges Mel C, Jason Donovan, Lord Lloyd-Webber and David Grindrod.
Jon, who also attended Durham Sixth Form Centre, has also sang for Lord Lloyd-Webber at his home in Mallorca, as well as sang in the studio.
And Jon’s luck was in when he was saved from being voted off the first live shows earlier this week and he will see another day after surviving last night’s audience vote.
