A music promotions group is celebrating its 50th #PinDrop event this weekend.

Organisers of #Pindrop – which hold regular musical meetings of acoustic-based genres – is holding its latest event at The Fishermans Arms, in Southgate, on the Headland, in Hartlepool.

Sarah Jane Scouten heads the line-up, with support in the shape of This Little Bird and Melissa Davison Music.

Brian Barnes, of #Pindrop, which is in its fifth year, said: “We are delighted to present a trio of fantastic female songwriters for our 50th #PinDrop, headed up by Sarah Jane Scouten all the way from Canada on her UK Tour.

“Sarah delivers a contemporary twist on old time bluegrass and folk.

“Support comes from Seaham’s This Little Bird, Rebecca Young, not a stranger to a #PinDrop stage, playing an exquisite blend of acoustic folk and country, each song a story in its own right.

“To start we have a debut performance from Melissa Davison Music, a delicate and impassioned singer/songwriter from Blyth, Northumberland.”

The music starts at around 8pm on Saturday, July 4. Entry is free.
