Olly Murs – Middlesbrough’s Central Square
POP star Olly Murs wooed a 5,000 strong crowd at this summer outdoor show with great support from local lass Amelia Lily and Diane Vickers.
X Factor star Olly thrilled the Teesside audience with an upbeat set featuring his hits Dance With Me Tonight and Hearts Skips a Beat to name but two.
He even threw in a great cover version of The Jam’s A Town Called Malice.
Boro pop princess and special guest Amelia Lily was given a huge welcome back to her home town by the audience.
The concert was Amelia’s first major gig on home soil and she fought back a tear as she told the crowd that she was “so happy” to perform at home.
After the show, she wrote on her Twitter page: “Can’t describe how I feel right now! Middlesbrough I love you.”
Olly also wrote a tweet after the show. He said: “Haha Middlesbrough was delightful tonight so good to be back!! Hope you all loved my Will Smith dance routine specially for you xx”
Also supporting Olly was fellow X Factor star Diana Vickers and two Teesside groups, Sus2 and Bre.
Diana Vickers performed a number of songs from her new album and her number one single Once.
Full marks to local promoters Loose Cannon for bringing this show to the region at such a great venue.
Hopefully it won’t be the last of shows at this fantastic setting.
