AN all-day festival-style charity gig is to be held at a real ale pub in Hartlepool.
The Hartlepool Oxjam will take place at The Causeway, in Stranton, on Saturday, October 4.
There will be a string of musical talent performing throughout the day with all cash raised going to international charity Oxfam.
Artists performing at the fundraiser include The Horsemen, Fat Bob, Remington Blends, Ultraphonics, the White Negroes, Mark Walker, After Hours and Daniel D’Arcy.
Comedy compering comes from Catherine Scott and Sammy Tinkerbell Dobson, who have recently done spots at the Edinburgh Fringe festival.
Sean Bell, landlord of The Causeway, said: “This year’s Hartlepool Oxjam all-dayer promises lots of fun and surprises, with local bands to be joined by comedians direct from Edinburgh Festival.
“We wanted to do something a bit different, and create a really great day out.
“As with previous years we’re hosting some of the most popular local bands around, but adding some comedy slots will hopefully attract a wider range of people, and raise even more money for a worthwhile cause.”
In addition to the comedy and a full programme of bands, there will be an open mic session from 2pm until 4pm and food available all day.
A raffle of fantastic prizes will also take place, including a family portrait session with talented Headland-based photographer Howard White and tapas for two at Casa Del Mar, on the Marina.
The day kicks off from 1pm with Irish music from The Mad Hatters.
Entry on the door is £5.
