NUTOPIANS are father-son duo Ian and Phil Jackson, from Sunderland, and this is their second EP of self-penned alt-rock.
Like the first, it contains four tracks, starting with the title song, which is a mid-paced rumination on a lost love.
It’s followed by The Secret, whose best feature is its piercing guitar riff.
Someday is another mid-paced love song, and they’ve saved the best till last with the more upbeat Out Of Touch – maybe their best song yet.
The CD is available at their gigs – they’re at the Longship in Hebburn on Saturday – and their website, nutopians.moonfruit.com.
The good news is there’s an album on the way. 7/10. GW
