AN evening of entertainment from top opera singer Russell Watson in Hartlepool is on course to be a sell-out – more than six months before he takes to the stage.
The Voice will team up for the third time with Hartlepool Male Voice Choir in their annual summer celebrity concert next June.
Almost half of the 900 seats for the concert at the Borough Hall have been snapped up by eager fans.
Duncan Graham, chairman of Hartlepool Male Voice Choir, said: “Sales through the choir have gone very well. There are 900 seats in the Borough Hall and there is not a bad one in the house.
“We have sold about 400 so far so we are well ahead of the game. People are buying them as Christmas presents for parents and family.”
The concert on Saturday, June 20, has also attracted interest from Russell’s devoted fan club The Russlers.
Duncan added: “We have already had some of his fan club get in touch and they have booked their seats.
“We are expecting to people to come from a good distance. Posters will be going out advertising the concert all around the North-East.”
Russell will be busy travelling the country performing next year as part of his Up Close and Personal tour.
Tickets went on general sale on Monday and are available through Hartlepool Tourist Information Centre in Church Square.
