HUNDREDS of Russell Watson fans have snapped up tickets to see him perform in Hartlepool this summer.

Russell, known as The Voice, is to share the stage with Hartlepool Male Voice Choir for a third time in June.

Around 600 of the 900 seats have been sold so far with four months still to go.

And organisers are reminding fans who wish to attend the event at the Headland’s Borough Hall and have not got a seat yet to get in touch.

Duncan Graham, chairman of Hartlepool Male Voice Choir, said: “People might be thinking it is sold out.

“It’s not but we hope it will be. We must be in the six hundreds for tickets sold.

“Last time Russell sang with us we only started selling them in February so we are well ahead of the game.”

The choir’s annual celebrity concert has been included as part of Russell’s Up Close and Personal nationwide tour. He comes to Hartlepool on Saturday, June 20.

Duncan added: “We are currently discussing what we will be singing with him.

“We are very much looking forward to seeing him again.”

Operatic singer Russell has previously performed twice with the male voice choir in 2010 and 2012.

After his last appearance in 2012 he took to social media to say he had had “one of the best nights for a long time” and praised the town audience as “brilliant”.

Seats priced at £35 are available from Hartlepool Tourist Information Centre on (01429) 890000.
