VOLUNTEERS are needed to ensure the continuing success of a popular music venue.

People are needed to pitch in for various roles to ensure the smooth running of The Studio, in Tower Street, Hartlepool.

There are just four people on its committee helping to drive it forward and more support is needed.

A meeting will take place tomorrow at the venue at 7pm where people can find out how they can play a part in shaping its future.

Volunteer Jonny Ward said: “It will continue – the committee there now are determined to make it so. But people need to realise that this doesn’t just happen on its own. To get the Studio up to where we need it to be, we need a bank of volunteers who are willing to commit some time.”

He said help is needed behind the scenes, whether working behind the bar, helping with decorating, shifting and lugging or with a spot of administration or promotion.

Jonny added: “We need people to join the committee and help us drive and deliver the vision. But most importantly, we need people who share the vision and are willing to put in the time and effort now to make it a reality.

“We’ve all got our favourite memories of this great venue; for me it’s always been about watching the bands in the company of some great friends.

“We want these nights to continue, but that can only happen if we have the will and determination to make The Studio work.

“And to do that we need people – people who can help The Studio realise its vision of becoming a thriving live music venue, rehearsal space and recording facility for people like you and me, who love live music.”
