Hartlepool funnyman Danny Posthill is looking forward to his first gig on home soil since starring in Britain’s Got Talent.
The 28-year-old impressionist, who grew up in the Rift House and Fens areas of the town, entertained the nation in the final of the hit ITV show.
And he is now set to star alongside Hartlepool United legend Joe Allon in “An Evening with...” at Mary Rowntree’s, on the Headland, early next month.
Danny, who won a public vote to make it into the showpiece, finished seventh in the final. He lives in Essex and is looking forward to his homecoming gig.
Danny said: “I am really looking forward to it - I love performing in Hartlepool, it is just a shame it is not more often.
“People in the North East have a really good sense of humour and I will be working hard to make sure they have a night to remember!
“To be performing alongside Joe is an honour too - a real Hartlepool legend.
“Appearing on Britain’s Got Talent changed my life and I have been so busy since - every week is manic which is great because I love to perform,” added the former Brierton School pupil.
Pools legend Allon, a 1991 promotion hero, said: “Danny is unique, a real talent and he should have won Britain’s Got Talent. I was really impressed with him and laughing along at all of his routines. I can’t wait for our evening together, Mary Rowntree’s is a great venue and this is the first of a few shows we are doing together at different venues,” added Allon, who scored 86 goals in 205 starts across two spells for Pools.
Andy Briscoe, manager of Mary Rowntree’s, said: “Danny was a big success on Britain’s Got Talent and we are all looking forward to a really good night.
“I have known Joe for many years and laughs are guaranteed when these two get together,” added Andy, who has been the safety officer at Hartlepool United for 31 years.
