Hartlepool impressionist Danny Posthill is ready for the biggest night of his career tonight as he appears in the semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent.

The 28-year-old, who grew up in the Rift House and Fens areas of Hartlepool, went down a storm in his audition.

It’s going to be the biggest performance of my career so far, and I’m a bit nervous, but excited at the same time.

Judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden were impressed enough to send him through to the live stage of the competition, and Danny will finally get his big chance tonight.

Having taken off celebrities including comedians Michael McIntyre, footballer David Beckham and singer Gary Barlow in his audition, he has several other tricks up his sleeve tonight – including show hosts Ant and Dec.

Danny said: “I’m putting a lot on the line tonight, because I got such a good reaction after the first audition and now I need to do it again.

“It’s going to be the biggest performance of my career so far, and I’m a bit nervous, but excited at the same time.

“I don’t want to give too much away, but Ant and Dec are in there, as well as others including Alan Carr and Michael McIntryre.

“Even if I don’t get through, the experience has done so much for me because of the TV exposure I’ve had, but I’d love to get through to the final.

“Tonight is going to be a really good show with some good acts on, though, so it’s going to be a tough one to get out of. I’m going to have a lot of family there, and to have people rooting for me will give me a big boost.”

Danny was also due to appear on ITV show Lorraine this morning, while the live Britain’s Got Talent show is on ITV at 7.30pm.
