A ROMEO lifeguard is promising plenty of laughs when he reappears on a dating show tonight.
Hartlepool’s Liam Lewis (pictured) proved a hit with the ladies when he landed himself a date on ITV’s hit programme Take Me Out last Saturday.
From 8.05pm today, viewers will have the chance to see the 23-year-old go on holiday with Lucy, who he picked after making a big impression on the 30 girls taking part in the show.
The pair were jetted off to the “love island of Fernando”, really Cyprus, to see if romance bloomed.
And Liam admitted he may have used a few “cheesy lines” in a bid to win her over.
Liam said: “People can expect a lot of fun as there were a few things I said that I think will make people laugh.
“It’s all a bit of fun and I hope everyone enjoys watching it.”
Last weekend saw Liam take part in the first stage of the show that sees girls given the chance to drop out from a prospective holiday by turning off their light, to the catchphrase “no likey, no lighty”.
Liam, who also works as a sports development worker for Hartlepool Borough Council, said the reaction he has had since he appeared to an audience of 5m people has been “incredible”.
He added: “It’s been absolutely amazing. My Facebook and Twitter has never stopped. Heat magazine and the like have been getting in touch.
“People in Hartlepool have been really positive.”
Videos played during the last episode showed Liam patrolling Seaton Carew beach and running “Baywatch-style” along the sand.
The former student at Henry Smith School, New College Durham and Teesside University also revealed his love of astronomy and that his mum, Denise Lewis, waxes his “mono-brow”.
