The emergency services were called to the car park, which is part of the station’s interchange off Church Street, shortly before 5pm today, Wednesday, February 19. The North East Ambulance service confirmed it took one patient to hospital for treatment after they were left wounded in the incident. Their age has not been confirmed. A spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.58pm to a report of a person who had been stabbed in the car park of Hartlepool train station. "We dispatched a double-crewed ambulance and took a male patient to James Cook Hospital." A large police presence could be seen around the car park as Cleveland Police officers cordoned off the area and inquiries began. No details have been released by police in the wake of the suspected attack.
