Eight-year-old girl assaulted in Hartlepool

Police are appealing for information after and eight-year-old girl was assaulted in the town.

Officers say the youngster was in Westland Avenue at about 4pm on Thursday, July 7, when the incident happened.

A male youth approached the girl and demanded money from her and then pushed her off her bike.

The male is described as a white teenager and he is around 5ft 8ins tall, of skinny build, with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey jogging top and trousers and was riding a black BMX style bike.
