The application said: “The premises licence holder seeks to licence to external areas so as to facilitate waitress service as is currently recommended by the Government in the Covid-19 guidelines and going forward to facilitate the provision of sales directly into the area from the temporary bar location.
“It is envisaged that the temporary bar will also dispense soft drinks and snack food.
“The applicant seeks to prepare the external use after the current pandemic and is to construct a stage area. The external area is sought to be licensed for recorded and live music.”

It notes a risk assessment has already been undertaken with regard to potential noise impacts, adding the areas are already used and have been for some time without complaints, according to the application.
The application adds they believe the new licensing would in fact enhance supervision due to increased waitress service and the manning of the temporary bar.
The application includes no changes to the internal layout and existing opening hours of the pub, and bosses say the site will continue to uphold and promote the four licensing objectives.
