Hartlepool United’s ex-Ipswich Town, Sunderland, Swindon and Bury midfielder faces treatment at St George’s Park
The 35-year-old midfielder was due to make his return against Morecambe on Sunday after two months out but has suffered a further setback, as revealed by SportMail.
Miller, who is one game shy of his 600th career appearance, has not played since the trip to Cambridge United at the end of October.

The centre has specialist equipment that can aid his recovery.
Gallagher said: “This type of soft tissue injury often takes longer to settle in players who are over 30, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating for me or Tommy.
“We’ve tweaked his programme a little to concentrate more on strengthening and the facilities at St George’s Park are obviously state-of-the-art so they can measure strength and power.
“It’s closed until the New Year now but we’re just awaiting a date for him to go because I’m sure that will really help him make some progress.”
