Boro weren’t able to bring in another forward on transfer deadline day and are set to be without Ashley Fletcher until the end of January due to a hamstring injury.
It has left Britt Assombalonga and Chuba Akpom as Boro’s only striker options ahead of a hectic run of fixtures.

Hide AdWhen asked about the possibility of signing free agents ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Bristol City, Warnock said: “There are one or two that we’ve seen that could come in who could help the squad but it’s just finding out what we can and can’t do.”
Warnock also said Boro will need a bit of luck with injuries over the next few weeks, admitting his squad are short of options in the heart of defence.
When asked if Boro will look to sign free agents in any other positions, Warnock replied: ”Not really at the moment.
"I think the financial situation at the whole club you have to look at that as well. I think really I can only ask for a striker.”
