In total, 42 Hartlepool businesses have signed up to be part of the fortnight. Most have a physical street presence while a handful are home based or do deliveries.
Janice Auton and Ste Harvey, of Totally Locally Hartlepool, said: “Fiver Fest is now a big part of our promotions for Hartlepool.
"The independent shops and businesses are what makes our town special and unique.

Examples of £5 offers include the Lock Gates, at Hartlepool Marina, doing a bacon or sausage sandwich and coffee or tea (offer available until noon Monday-Saturday and 11.30am Sundays), half price watch batteries supplied and fitted while you wait at Mark Lloyd Master Goldsmith, in Park Road, and SSS Fire and Security LTD servicing any two fire extinguishers in the Hartlepool area.
Thousands of independent businesses from 100 places nationally are taking part in Fiver Fest.
The campaign is devised and run by the grass roots high street organisation Totally Locally that has been helping businesses and High Streets since 2010.

"Just by diverting £5 of our weekly spend to local independents we give them a fighting chance to thrive.
“The pandemic has shown just what an amazing contribution they make to our local communities. It’s a conversation worth having."
