Full list of shops and businesses that are open in Hartlepool shopping centre during Lockdown 2

Middleton Grange shopping centre in Hartlepool has published a full list of shops that are open during the second lockdown.

The nationwide lockdown begins on Thursday, November 5, and is due to last until Wednesday, December 2, during which time people are told to stay at home unless for essential travel, providing care, work that cannot be done at home and education.

Shops and businesses in the shopping centre that remain open are: B&M, Bodycare, Boots, Boots Opticians, Eurochange, First Class shoe repair, Halifax, Healthways Chemist, Heron Foods, Holland & Barrett, Home Bargains, Iceland, Poundland, Savers, Specsavers, Scrivens, Supercigs, TJ Hughes, WH Smith and Wilko.

CEX, JD, The Entertainer, H Samuel and Cash Generator are open on a Click & Collect basis only.

And food and drink outlets Cooplands, Costa, Greggs, McDonalds and Subway are operating a takeaway only service.

Stalls in the Market Hall that are open are: Ayers Butchers, Blyths BUtchers, Faking It (Click & Collect), Ford’s Fruiters, Ryan’s Fruit & Veg, S&L News, Sandwich Express, Soap & Soul (Click & Collect only) and The Make Up Box (Click & Collect only).

Middleton Grange stated: “The health of our retailers, centre teams and visitors is paramount and we are working hard to ensure people are being supported wherever possible.

"We ask all our customers to shop sensitively and respectively and follow the social distancing guidelines.”

A toilet has been made available near Poundland for those in crisis but the centre says it is not feasible to keep the others open under the current official guidance. Middleton Grange apologised for any inconvenience.

The multi-storey car park is closed until further notice but other council car parks are open.

The shopping centre’s opening hours will remain the same from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Customers are encouraged to check individual stores’ opening hours as they may vary.

Shops selling non essential goods such as clothes only and charity shops will be closed during the lockdown.

Thursday’s outdoor market run by Hartlepool Borough Council in the car park behind York Road has been suspended for the duration of the latest lockdown.

Middleton Grange says it will communicate updates and any changes to information through its social media channels.
